Davey Jones' Nature Locker
Dedicated in Honor of
David B Jones
Thirty five years on staff and counting!
The Lewis and Clark Scout Camp is ideal for the study of nature and the ecology of the high plains. Several ecosystems exist here. Prairie has been cut into wooded ravines by water descending to the Missouri River. A most exciting way to appreciate this history is to find and identify fossils of creatures which lived "at the camp" when it was the bottom of a shallow inland sea during the late Cretaceous Period.
